Mall crawl for fairs and offers

- Staff Reporter reporters@khaleejtimes.com

No Ramadan in Dubai is complete without a visit (or visits!) to our malls. Luckily, each and every mall is offering special experiences to mark the occasion.

Wafi Mall, for example, is celebrating with hospitality tents, a Ramadan fair, competitions and bazaars, and the entire mall has been adorned by contemporary décor that is inspired by the ancient traditions.

For Iftar, head to Wafi Mall’s Main Atrium to be served with traditional Arabic coffee and dates. Families are also being invited to enjoy the mall’s social media competition, in which they capture attractive images from the Khan Murjan Souk for a chance to win up to Dh5,000. The top 30 pictures taken in the campaign will be chose and displayed in the mall’s Mosaic Area, near Matalan.

Additionally, the mall is bringing back — by popular demand — the Saraya Ramadan Fair that will take place between 8 PM and 12 AM between June 11 and 14, as well as the Khan Murjan Bazaar that will host a variety of local talents between June 17 and 23. Individuals will showcase their products including fashion, art, accessories, handicrafts, children’s fashion, and much more from 6 PM-12 AM.

In some cases, a Ramadan trip to the mall can be combined with a contribution to a good cause.

Visitors to Al Ghurair Centre, for example, have a chance to participate in their latest social initiative called ‘Omniyati’ — which is Arabic for ‘make a wish’.

Following the purchase of a special Dh25 voucher from the Customer Service Desk, visitors get to enjoy a range of activities in the “Mystery Maze” — a Middle Eastern spectacle with mysterious delights behind every hidden door. Participants are then able to redeem their Dh25 voucher at any of the mall’s retail outlets, with Al Ghurair Centre donating the amount to the special “Omniyati” cause. This entails an offer to visitors to log onto the Omniyati portal — alghuraircentre. com and nominate themselves, a friend or a relation who they believe should have a wish come true. The portal will be live and ready to accept wishes from the first day of Ramadan. The last date of submission is July 1. Al Ghurair Centre will announce the three winners to have their wishes made true on July 8.
