This year’s futsal has 12 teams competing in four groups of three each while making every result count in deciding the top two sides making it to the knockout stages.
After having lost in their opening matches last Monday, it was crucial for both Quattro Sports Centre and The Storm. And the two did not disappoint as Quattro Sports Centre earned a final-minute 3-2 win against Al Bahri 2, while The Storm secured a 6-5 win over Leader Sport.
Al Jawareh had opened Group A with a 2-0 win against Quattro Sports Centre in Monday’s opener, while Al Taher had fought well for an entertaining 8-7 win over The Storm to sit atop Group B. However, both Quattro Sports Centre and The Storm remained in the qualifying fray with their wins on Wednesday.
Meanwhile in the padel competition, Valencia earned the right to challenge three-time defending champions Uncle Saeed in the final. Valencia eased past the SHM Team 2-0 to have a shot at the teams’ title on June 14.
