Man molests 11-year-old boy outside his home

- Marie Nammour

dubai — A worker is standing trial in the Court of First Instance on the charge of molesting an 11-year-old boy at the entrance of the apartment building where he lived.

The 28-year-old Pakistani worker is accused of touching the boy and kissing him against his will. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in court.

The child was going home alone when the accused saw him, on April 29 at the building in Al Rafaa. “I was at home around 11.45am, when my son came in with a look of fear and unease on his face. He said he was walking home when he noticed a man watching and following him, but he did not worry about it,” the boy’s father, a 44-year-old Indian manager, told the prosecutor.

“My son was, however, surprised to see the same man at the entrance of our building. The man grabbed him by his shoulder, making him face him. He then kissed him on the cheek and left the place.”

The complainant then went downstairs with his son and asked the watchman to check the surveillance camera recordings. The boy identified the accused in the footage. During interrogation, the accused admitted he touched the boy inappropriately and kissed him against his will.

The boy told the investigators: “I first thought that man was a resident there. I was really shocked and I could not even scream when he accosted me.” He also identified the accused among other suspects at Al Rafaa police station.
