UAE Rulers offer Eid Al Fitr prayers

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates offered prayers on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr on Sunday. Crown princes, deputy rulers, dignitarie­s and officials also participat­ed in the prayers alongside worshipper­s.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid offered Eid prayers at the Zaabeel Mosque, with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Chairman, Dubai Land Department, and other Sheikhs, dignitarie­s and officials.

Dr Omar Mohammad Al Khatib, from the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, led the prayer and delivered the Eid Al Fitr sermon. He congratula­ted the wise leadership, Emiratis and Muslims on the occasion. He spoke about giving, which is deemed one of the noble deeds in Islam, as well as other noble values.

He also prayed to Allah to have mercy on the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed and Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid, as well as the UAE and Arab Coalition’s martyrs in Yemen.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed performed the Eid Al Fitr prayers alongside worshipper­s at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Performing prayers by Sheikh Mohamed’s side were Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representa­tive; Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitari­an Foundation; Lt-Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidenti­al Affairs; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Developmen­t; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan.

The sermon, delivered by Dr Mohammed Mattar Salem Al Kaabi, chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, highlighte­d the joyous holiday, emphasisin­g its timing to promote love and peace, which Al Kaabi said are the main goals of Islam, expressing hope for it to be achieved around the world. Dr Al Kaabi pointed out that the Eid is an occasion to strengthen communicat­ion with family, creating love and affection between relatives. Sheikh Mohamed then visited the Wahat Al Karama (Oasis of Dignity), and read ‘Al Fatiha’ for the spirits of the martyrs.

Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at Al Badee Musallah in Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Sea Ports and Customs; Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council; a number of Sheikhs and senior officials also performed prayers alongside the Sharjah Ruler.

Sheikh Sultan listened to the Eid Al Fitr sermon delivered by Dr Salem Al Doubi. Al Doubi called on worshipper­s to follow the approach of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and spread the values of tolerance and compassion among people. He called on the attendees to exchange visits and communicat­ion to strengthen human relations and other good values.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, performed Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Mosque in Ajman.

Performing prayers by their sides were Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Ruler’s Representa­tive for Administra­tive and Financial Affairs; Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Developmen­t Department; Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipali­ty and Planning Department; Sheikh Dr Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Ruler’s Court; and a number of sheikhs, senior officials, diplomats, citizens and residents.

The sermon, delivered by Sheikh Hussain Moeen Al Hosani, Director of the Islamic Institute in Ajman, highlighte­d that Islam promotes compassion, strong social and family bonds. Sheikh Hussain stressed the greatness of the day and the compassion and tolerance it should reflect.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in the emirate. Sheikh Mohammed Ibrahim Humaid led the prayer and delivered the Eid sermon. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits among relatives, compassion and cooperatio­n values.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Musallah in the emirate. Sheikh Ahmed Ibrahim Subai’an, Secretary-General of the Ras Al Khaimah Foundation for Holy Quran and its Sciences, led the prayer and delivered the sermon, which dealt with the noble meanings and values of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
