Coming soon: 70,000-sqm green sanctuary in Sharjah

sharjah — Sharjah Municipali­ty is planning to construct a park with an area of 70,085 square metres, in Al Qarayen 2 Area.

The park will include children’s rides, green areas with various flowering shrubs, plants and trees, as well as rubber walking path, along with benches, cafeterias, cafes and all kind of services.

Faisal Al Mulla, director of public services, said that the land for the constructi­on has been evened and flattened, under instructio­ns from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

projects to increase green areas and residentia­l parks in the emirate to cater to the increasing population.

Levelling work in Al Qarayen 2 area, done under the directives of the Sharjah Municipali­ty, covered 70,085 square meters, using 25 trucks and plenty of other equipment such as bulldozers, water tanks etc.

With this new park in Al Qarayen 2, the number of parks in Sharjah goes up to 58. Located in various residentia­l areas in the emirate, these parks provide the best services for visitors and are equipped with facilities such as benches, BBQ pits, children’s rides and more.

The Municipali­ty continues to carry out the land flattening to keep pace with the comprehens­ive developmen­t witnessed by the emirate, and to preserve the public safety and aesthetic, civilised appearance of the Emirate.

The paving of the land also aims to avoid the damage and risks that may be posed by low lying areas, even the lowlands in all the new areas within the urban space, so that it is easy to build on them and provide required services and facilities.
