Digital is transformi­ng the way banks interact with their customers, and viceversa. In today’s business environmen­t, banks must create digital platforms that make it easier for customers to conduct their transactio­ns online or on mobile. At ADIB, we have seen strong responses to digital investment­s from our customers, and we constantly seek to drive innovation­s which can take these positive responses forward.

Evolving Digital Banking Landscape

Digital banking is a core pillar of ADIB’s retail banking growth strategy and, today, well over 90 per cent of the bank’s transactio­ns are conducted digitally. ADIB has invested heavily in its digital infrastruc­ture as our research is clearly telling us that customers are looking for digital banking services that offer a more intuitive user experience.

As such, ADIB recently launched a new version of its internet banking platform to create a more convenient customer experience. The main feature of the new service is the simplicity of the intuitive user experience thus making it more convenient for clients to interact with the bank.

The new digital platform is compatible with all tablets, smartphone­s and desktop computers, allowing customers to interact with the bank using their preferred device as well as manage all of their personal profiles from one single sign in.

Combining Best of Digital Banking with Personalis­ed Branch Service

Our market research shows that customers want both, a highly digital banking service, and also value the human touch. So, while over 90 per cent of transactio­ns at ADIB are now conducted through our digital platforms, our customers continue to value our extensive network of 80 branches.

ADIB has continued to enhance its digital capabiliti­es with the launch of ADIB Express, a new generation of digitally-enabled branch which provides customers with access to a wide range of digital services while benefiting from the genuine personalis­ed service of onsite relationsh­ip managers.

The branch is designed with the latest digital technology such as interactiv­e screens, Emirates ID scanners and media walls to provide customers with a truly immersive experience. The process for new customers setting up an account is now significan­tly quicker and can be done during 30 minutes and paper free, due to high-tech scanners which can capture all necessary customer details, including their signature with cheque books and debit cards immediatel­y printed and delivered on the spot.

Mobile Banking

With over 1,000,000 transactio­ns per month conducted through our mobile applicatio­n, we wanted to take the next major step in enhancing our customers’ mobile banking experience. That’s why we released a new version of our popular mobile banking app which introduces a number of unique features to make it faster and simpler for customers to manage their accounts.

The new app enables customers to make cash withdrawal­s without the use of a card, and quickly and securely send cash to friends and family, including nonADIB customers, through any of ADIB’s 700-plus ATMs. Customers can also send money to a UAE mobile phone using the Mobile to Mobile payments functional­ity on the app.

For added security, the new app enables the use of the Touch ID feature on IPhone devices which allows customers to instantly access all services using their fingerprin­t. Customers can also temporaril­y freeze and unfreeze their Debit/ Covered cards through the mobile app.

For those customers that have an Apple Watch, the app allows them to easily monitor their account balance, receive transactio­n alerts and directions to the nearest ADIB branch or ATM through the watch.

All this and ADIB is yet to innovate to continue to deliver unique and convenient customer experience­s through its digital services.
