The planned surprise

-

The Careem contest team planned a surprise for cabbie Irfan Safdar and invited him to their office on the pretext of a photoshoot for the company. As a nervous Irfan entered Careem’s premises in Dubai Media City, he came face to face with the winning customer Sheena, who had given him his Bluetooth speaker gift. Irfan at once recognised and thanked her again for the gift. However, he was surprised when she told him about a second gift for him now and this time it was from his company. Irfan, in his 30s, said: “This is going to be the most memorable day of my life. I am too excited to say anything. All I want to say is that thanks Careem for giving me this much-needed money and thanks Sheena ma’am for being my lucky charm. I feel lucky to have been working with this company and my three-year service here seems to have paid off this way.” While Sheena will use the prize money to fund her upcoming vacation, Irfan will use some amount of the money to repay his loans and save the rest to send back to his family. “Captains drive our mission forward and help us move the region toward better living. Without them Careem would simply cease to exist. We deeply appreciate and respect them for the great work they do as one of the most important pillars of our business. This“O Captain My Captain” competition, though small, is a tribute to them for their hard work, perseverance and most importantly, for believing in us everyday,” said Bassel Al Nahlaoui, VP business development and government relations, Careem.
