Khaleej Times post win over Alec; Park-N-Shop on a winning spree
dubai — Khaleej Times got the better of Alec in the Sprite Summer Cup 2017, organised by the ICC Cricket Academy.
The tournament is held at the ICC Cricket Academy indoor facilities at the Dubai Sports City.
Dilsara (18), Salim (15), Kingsley (14) and Shamsher (11) helped the media side post 88 to chase down Alec’s total of 77.
In other matches, Park-N-Shop registered two victories while Red Knights had mixed luck.
In their first match, Park-N-Shop defeated IT Eagles. Batting first, IT Eagles posted 38 with only Naveed and Farrukh scoring 10 each.
For Park-N-Shop, Ajay claimed three wickets.
Chasing a modest target, ParkN-Shop achieved their target of 55 with Rajesh top-scoring with 14 while Rahul hit 11.
In their other match, Park-N-Shop easily got past Difficult-8. Pursing Difficult-8’s 46 Park-N-Shop amassed 79 with the help of good knocks from Kiran (20), Rajesh (17), Ormis (16) and Mohit (11).
Earlier batting first, Difficult 8 managed 46 with only Muthu (18), Leslie (11) and Mahir (12) coming good with the bat.
Red Knights powered to fine win over IPL Super Stars in an interesting chase. Chasing a target of 70, Red Knights got off to a fine start with the opening pair Asher (15) and Rishi (9) sharing 24 runs.
Farrukh and Shane scored 10 and 14 respectively to further boost the chase before Pravin hit 12 to take Red Knights to the brink of victory.
But it was superb hitting from Chandra in the end who scored 14 that ensured Red Knights achieved 77.
In the other match, Red Knights were humbled by Tiger CC. Tiger CC batting first posted a superb 74 with Imran (16), Sumesh (13) and Asad (12) all making significant contributions.
In reply, Red Knights had a fine start with Murali and Pravin scoring an identical 13.
