Du’s new Tourist SIM offers a lot more than just calls, data
dubai — UAE telecom firm du has unveiled an enhanced Tourist SIM card for the visitors to the UAE.
From August 1, tourists can enjoy 20 per cent off on four Uber rides, access to special prices on the UAE’s top attractions through the exclusive du Entertainer Go App, 50 per cent off on Dollar car rentals and 30 per cent off on their speciality range of vehicles. For just Dh55, they can also stay connected with friends and family, with 20 flexible minutes call time, 200MB data and 20 flexible SMS.
“At du, bringing the UAE to life for tourists is important to us, and is one of the main economic areas that the UAE is focusing on in order to diversify the economy and fulfil the Tourism 2020 Strategy,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, chief commercial officer, du. “By 2020, 22 million tourists are expected to visit the UAE. We wanted to focus on providing exclusive benefits and added value to tourists through our Tourist SIM. Now visitors can engage and enjoy many of the sights and sounds of the UAE and really get to know our wonderful country and culture.”

Robert Meza, head of travel at the Entertainer app, said that “tourist SIM users will also have access to the app’s travel planning feature, a city guidebook and an in-app attraction booking service, with access to 450 attractions in the UAE, all available to book immediately,”
With the app, tourists can use the exclusive vouchers at popular restaurants, dining and nightlife venues, desert safari tour operators, a romantic dinner in Marina on a traditional local boat (dhow), the double-decker bus tour in Dubai, fun activities for children and a full day ski pass at Ski Dubai. The Tourist SIM from du is valid for 90 days.
