Dar Al Ber society’s Ramadan projects help 323,000 people

dubai — As many as 322,937 people have benefitted from Dar Al Ber Society projects in the holy month of Ramadan all over the globe.

These included the Iftar programme which covered 277,835 people, as well as the Zakat Al Fitr scheme which served 35,348 people, and the Eid Clothes project which benefited 9,736 people.

Free Iftar meals, worth Dh2 million, were distribute­d in Africa and Asia, while Zakat Al Fitr was distribute­d in 36 countries in collaborat­ion with 52 foreign strategic partners and five UAE embassies.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, executive director of Dar Al Ber, said they also contribute­d Ramadan Meer or food baskets to vulnerable people worldwide. “The society spares no effort to provide the best ever services to indigent and low-income people, particular­ly the deprived ones in African and Asian countries, and ease their suffering.”

Imran Mohamed Abdullah, head of Charity Projects, said that the Ramadan Meer was meant to secure poor families’ basic food needs. “We also contribute­d 9,736 free meals, worth Dh210,000, at our Ramadan tents.” — Wam
