CDA holds session to tap Emirati youth potential

dubai — The Youth Council of Dubai’s Community Developmen­t Authority (CDA) has marked the World Youth Day, annually on August 12th, with a “Youth Circle”, organised in collaborat­ion with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai.

Aligning with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the session sought to highlight young Emiratis’ role in social developmen­t and sustainabl­e national projects, and explore prospects for developing their ideas. The session also identified young people’s aspiration­s for the future of the UAE and included ‘people of determinat­ion’.

Saeed Ahmad Al Tayer, CEO of social planning and developmen­t sector, acting director-general of CDA, said: “The discussion­s that took place in the Youth Circle revealed a unanimous conviction among participan­ts regarding the youth’s critical role in national and community developmen­t. We must determine the optimal approaches to tap into their potential. Young people are top priority for our leaders, who have the highest hopes and aspiration­s for a better and brighter future for our country. The youth are the creative energy, the knowledge and the determinat­ion that drives sustainabl­e growth and constructi­ve developmen­t of the UAE. — Wam
