- Staff Report

dubai — Malls in Dubai are great crowd-pullers. Be it summer or winter, shopping malls are always crowded with residents and tourists.

A survey conducted by YouGov BrandIndex showed that The Dubai Mall is the first in the list of healthiest mall brands in the UAE.

Data from the past 12 months from YouGov’s global daily brand tracker shows the world’s largest mall achieved the highest brand health scores among consumers in the Emirates — taking the lead above Mall of the Emirates in second place and City Centre Deira in third. City Centre Mirdif and Dubai Festival Centre complete the top five malls in the UAE’s first Brand Health Rankings in fourth and fifth place, respectively. The survey takes into account perceptions of a brand’s quality, value, impression, satisfaction, reputation and whether consumers would recommend the brand to others.

Scott Booth, YouGov’s head of data products in the Mena, said: “In a fairly cluttered retail market, both Emaar’s The Dubai Mall and Majid Al Futtaim’s Mall of the Emirates stand well apart from the competition as the UAE’s premiere shopping and leisure destinations. to narrow the gap between the UAE’s top malls.”

UAE residents enjoy one of the world’s highest per capita income in the world, hence, they spend a handsome cash on the personal care products. Euromonitor International (EMI) data showed that 9.3 million residents spent $2.1 billion (Dh7.34 billion) on personal care products in 2016 which is set to rise to $2.7 billion by 2020. According to the inaugural global brand health rankings released by YouGov BrandIndex, household family protection brand Dettol has topped the list of personal care brands in the UAE.

Consumer survey over the past 12 months has found that Dettol is the strongest brand, ahead of Unilever power brand Dove and oral health and dental care Colgate. Vaseline and Oral B complete the top five.

The Index score takes into account perceptions of a brand’s quality, value, impression, satisfaction, reputation and whether consumers would recommend the brand to others.
