Happy Eid initiative for 7,000 police staff

dubai — The Dubai Police’s Executive Council for Happiness and Positive Energy launched the ‘Holiday Makers’ initiative for more than 7,000 employees of the force.

Awatif Al Suwaidi, executive director of the council, affirmed that employees and clients are a priority for the Dubai Police, which are keen to launch initiative­s and programmes for the happiness of both internal and external communitie­s.

The initiative targets about 7,000 staff at all public department­s and Dubai Police stations, supplying them with fresh outfits and accessorie­s, besides special discounts from sweet shops, fruits delivery services and other services aimed at their convenienc­e and also for their families, during the Eid al-Adha period.

Major-General Mohammed Saad Al Sharif, assistant commander for administra­tion affairs, stressed that the Dubai Police are keen to promote happiness and optimism in the force, keeping with the country’s strategy to boost overall happiness in the community, making it a way of life and an approach rooted in police work.

Al Sharif added that the initiative is in recognitio­n of the efforts of ordinary policemen, who work constantly to people’s safety, even during official holidays and other occasions.

The event was attended by Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed Rafi, director-general of the human resources department, bringing in the employee happiness programme before Eid Al Adha.

The Executive Council is cooperatin­g with the Ministry of Happiness and the Dubai Smart Office to launch and implement this and other happiness initiative­s.
