Riot of colours, thrilling activities at Al Majaz

sharjah — Eid Al Adha will be celebrated with a riot of colour and energy at Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront. The family destinatio­n is hosting an array of entertainm­ent activities for all ages, with acrobats and light shows all set to captivate holiday audiences.

The programme, which takes place at the waterfront’s picturesqu­e Khalid Lagoon from 5.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, includes thrilling chair balancing acts, exciting acrobatic shows, breath-taking fire performanc­es and infectious music. A roaming parade featuring characters with LED costumes will wind its way through the site three times each night, with the performers interactin­g with the crowds along their route.

In addition to the special activities being laid on for the public holiday, visitors to Al Majaz Waterfront will be able to take a ride on the water karts and enjoy stunning views towards Al Noor Island and the Sharjah cityscape, as well as savour an array of gastronomi­c treats at the waterfront’s numerous restaurant­s and kiosks. Al Majaz’s eclectic mix of local and internatio­nal food and beverage outlets including El Manza, Pizzaro, Sutis, TGI Friday’s, Zahr El Laymoun, Caribou Coffee, Shakespear­e and Co, Tim Hortons café and Zaroob,

A key leisure destinatio­n among the UAE residents and a popular tourist attraction for overseas visitors, Al Majaz Waterfront hosts a variety of artistic and entertainm­ent activities throughout the year, including film screenings, stage shows and its renowned New Year’s Eve fireworks. The facility is also home to the Maraya Art Centre, an internatio­nally recognised platform for art projects and exhibition­s.
