Brother Gas, ANIB XI post victories in Summer Cricket League

dubai — Brother Gas and ANIB XI posted convincing victories in the ICCA Summer Cricket League tournament organised by the ICC Cricket Academy at the Dubai Sports City.

Brother Gas defeated Damac Properties by 100 runs while ANIB XI recorded two victories. While they defeated Mideast Metals by 40 runs, they then got past Mir by three wickets.

Brother Gas put in to bat first, saw an amazing partnershi­p for the opening wicket that fetched those 71 runs. Faheem Shafiq contribute­d 24 runs in his 20 balls while Adnan Khan went on to score 101 (65b, 12x4, 1x6) as Brother Gas put up 196 for three in 20 overs.

In reply, Damac Properties could muster only 96 before being all out in 19 overs. For Brother Gas, Saravanan Swami claimed three wickets while Abid Hussain bagged two.

In their first match, ANIB restricted Mir to 137 for eight in 20 overs. ANIB’s Khawar took three wickets while Ronak claimed two.

In reply, ANIB XI on Top got past the target with three balls to spare. Neville P smashed a 21-ball 39 while Mahesh S scored 33 off 22 balls.

In the other match, ANIB XI on Top posted 182 for nine in 20 overs. Rajesh Kotta scored 38 (5 x4, 31 balls) while Mohtasim Jakti scored 24. Fanus Kanwal (38, 25b, 4x4) and Ronak Kandelwal (34, 24b) consolidat­ed the score further as ANIB XI on Top posted a brilliant target.

In reply, Mideast Metals had a strong start with openers Rajesh Menon (21) and Syed Haider (35) sharing 62 runs.

Syed Haider hit a 32 ball 35 before wickets fell in quick succession as Mideast Metals could muster only 142 before being all out on 19.4 overs.

Mahesh SD was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets while Rounak K bagged three and Mohtasim took two.
