Security for Independence Cup amazing: Elliott

LAHORE — Terming the security arrangements for the Independence Cup T20 matches in Lahore amazing, former New Zealand cricketer Grant Elliott hopes to see the return of Test cricket to Pakistan.

“My experience here (in Lahore) has been great so far. The security is amazing. All of us (players) feel secure,” Elliot, a member of the ICC World XI which comprises players from seven countries, said while talking to a private TV channel ahead of the third T20 of the Independence Cup.

“When we go from the ground to the hotel, it’s as safe as any other country. It’s the only (cricket-playing) country I hadn’t been to, but now I can say I’ve played cricket in Pakistan,” the allrounder added. —
