IPhone 8 sales start at etisalat and du

DUBAI — The UAE’s two telecom operators, etisalat and du, have announced that they will start sales of the new Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus today, coinciding with Gitex Shopper.

“Etisalat is excited that the much-anticipate­d iPhone will be available for customers in the UAE at the same time as their global counterpar­ts,” etisalat chief consumer officer Khaled Elkhouly said in a statement.

“The unique ‘iPhone for Life’ programme introduced last year for the first time in the UAE will make it easier to upgrade to the new iPhones. Etisalat’s smart pay offer on 12, 18 and 24 months provides consumers flexibilit­y while using the new features on these innovative devices on the country’s fastest 4G LTE network.”

“In the UAE, there has been a lot of excitement around Apple’s most recent launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and our customers are always eager to get their hands on the latest new products,” du chief commercial officer Fahad Al Hassawi said in a statement.

“We are a brand dedicated to empowering people through connectivi­ty, and we are thrilled to be offering Apple’s latest generation iPhone to our technology-savvy customers... the latest Apple products are set to enhance the lives of du customers.”

As for the upcoming high-end iPhone X — scheduled to be released on November 4, etisalat and du announced that they will start pre-orders on October 27 and 28, respective­ly.
