Sharjah road partially closed

sharjah — The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partially closed an internal road in the busy Samnan area, owing to necessary works by the department of public works.

Two of the three-lane road will be blocked so that the department can carry out the requisite works of the pumping station of the treated sewage water No. 5, according to official sources with the authority. “These are added to the important works of the main pumping line of the treated water extending from the sewage water treatment station in the 5th Industrial area to the sea.”

The ongoing partial road closure will last for five more days and slated to end on Tuesday, they explained. All motorists are urged to reduce speed, be attentive on the road, and take alternativ­e roads to avoid traffic congestion. “Any possible inconvenie­nce is regretted, but it is for the best of road users.”

The regular maintenanc­e works, meant to enhance public safety and security, is in line with the directions of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, he underlined.“The road developmen­t, being done as per the highest internatio­nal standards, will give a boost to the performanc­e of the road and the entire road network of the emirate for the benefit of the public.”Indicating, they said that RTA Sharjah is more than ready to respond to customers’ feedbacks and complaints. “RTA Sharjah Call Centre is reachable 24/7 at (600525252) for feedbacks, inquiries, remarks and complaints.” ahmedshaab­an@khaleejtim­es.com
