Dubai teachers honoured on Teachers’ Day
dubai — Teachers from various schools in Dubai were honoured during the World Teachers’ Day celebration held at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) premises on Thursday.
The event brought together teachers who previously participated in Teachers of Dubai, What Works, and Teach Together.
Each teacher was presented with the first edition of Teachers of Dubai — a book featuring the stories of 50 teachers previously profiled on the #TeachersOfDubai social media pages.
“World Teachers’ Day is a great opportunity for us to say thank you to teachers in Dubai for inspiring their students, giving their communities, and simply being who they are. This book has been made possible by the hard work and determination of our teachers who believe in giving their best always. It shines a light on the wonderful work done by teachers. When we feel appreciated and have a strong sense of wellbeing, we make a strong, positive impact on the community around us,” said Dr Abdulla Al Karam, KHDA director-general.
The event included the KHDA Mums, a group of five parents with children who interviewed teachers for Teachers of Dubai.
Teachers also took part in a education session hosted by the Dubai chapter of the International Positive Education Network. During the event, students presented teachers with flowers.
