UAE kids become global toppers
dubai — As many as 15 UAE students have scored the highest marks in the world in their Cambridge exams in a single subject.
Khaleej Times spoke to two among the global toppers, who earned the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in the UAE.
A student at the Merryland International School in Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Sharjeel, who scored the highest mark in the world in AS Level Mathematics said: “I’m very happy I came top in the world in Maths. Our school has an excellent system and it really helped us prepare for the exams,” the 17-year-old said. “When it’s closer to exam times, our teachers focus on one single subject each day and gives a lot of attention to each individual student.”
A student at The Winchester School, Nida Tanveer, said she was nervous after taking her exam, because she was unsure about some of the questions.
“There were some questions that I thought I probably answered wrong, so I was really surprised when the results came. I felt really good to see that I achieved the highest mark in the world in IGSCE

Besides the 15 UAE students who scored top in the world in single subject, there are also 53 other students who achieved the highest marks in a single subject in the country.
These students will receive the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. These outstanding results will be recognised by employers and universities around the world as proof of academic excellence.
