- Amira Agarib

dubai — Now you can report and get police reports for minor traffic accidents at 10 Enoc fuel stations in Dubai. The Dubai Police launched the second phase of ‘Alaa darbak’ initiative at the Rashidya Police Station on Sunday.

Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police for criminal investigation affairs, said the second phase of the initiative covers seven fuel stations, while in the first, three were covered.

Brigadier Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, director of Rashidiya Police Station, said: “It helps drivers who may not have smart phones or those who insist on getting hard copies of accident reports.”

Explaining how the system works, he said that once a traffic accident occurs, the two parties can go to any of the 10 Enoc fuel stations and report it at the special customer service counter there. A trained employee there will photograph the damage caused by the accident, write out a damage report and issue a report. The whole process is completed in under three minutes. The police and Enoc have trained 18 staff members for the job, and another 40 will be trained in the second phase.

Brigadier bin Sulaiman said 2,360 accident reports were filed through the ‘Alaa darbak’ initiative since it was rolled out in August last year.
