Underprivi­leged children get gourmet lunch treat by chefs

new delhi — More than 350 underprivi­leged children got a gourmet grazing lunch treat which was prepared and supported by renowned chefs from the culinary fraternity on the occasion of Internatio­nal Chefs Day on Friday.

Indian Culinary Forum Chef & Child Foundation organised the charity lunch for schoolchil­dren at a school here, a statement said. The objective of the event was to explore new ideas for bettering the life of underprivi­leged children.

that each child receives a nutritious meal,” the statement said.

Master chefs also educated the schoolchil­dren about the importance of hygiene, including the dos and don’ts during, before and after their meal and what the priorities are between education and health.

Commenting on the event, chef Davinder Kumar, president Indian Culinary Forum, said: “I feel privileged to be associated in such a social cause. It’s an extreme proud moment for me to see my fellow chefs coming together to work for such a good cause, going beyond their regular cooking schedule.” —
