Tickets still available for Club World Cup in UAE

-

abu dhabi — Tickets for next month’s Fifa Club World Cup in the UAE are still available, a Press release said.

Tickets are available for all of the first five matches, including the opening game between Arabian Gulf League champions Al Jazira and OFC Champions League winners Auckland City FC.

The opening game of the tournament will be played at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain on December 6.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid, the European champions, and CONCACAF Champions League Winners CF Pachuca of Mexico have already qualified.

Some of the biggest club sides in the world are still hoping to seal their place in the UAE, including ‘Club of the Century’ Al Ahly SC of Egypt, Saudi national champions Al Hilal, and Argentina’s iconic River Plate.

“December’s Fifa Club World Cup will be a celebration of the best club football from around the world, and promises to showcase some of the most famous names in the sport,” commented Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Director Marketing & Communications, LOC.

“Since tickets went on sale in June, we have seen an overwhelming demand and the LOC is committed to making the Fifa Club World Cup accessible to all, so we encourage fans to book tickets whilst they are still available.”

Like Auckland City FC, CONCACAF Champions League winners CF Pachuca are also guaranteed to face an Arab side in the UAE next month. The CAF Champions League final secondleg is set to be played on Saturday, November 4, with Egypt’s Al Ahly SC travelling to Morocco to face Wydad Casablanca, following a 1-1 draw in the first-leg last Saturday.

The winner of that match will be rewarded with a second round Fifa Club World Cup clash against the Mexican Champions in Al Ain on December 9.

“90% of tickets to the semifinal and final are no longer available. The LOC are working with Fifa to confirm final allocations for the remaining 10%. There may be a release of tickets for fans to purchase in the next few weeks,” Al Qubaisi said.

“We look forward to welcoming fans to the UAE for what is shaping up to be the most exciting tournament.”
