sharjah — Game of Thrones fans, it’s time to save up for this majestic pop-up version of the greatest story ever told.

A ‘Pop-Up Guide to Westeros’ thrills a legion of Game of Thrones (GoT) fans at the Insight Editions stall located within the Comic Cave at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). Designed by paper engineer Matthew Reinhart, the book depicts stunning illustrations of central locations from GoT. Hidden within the seven 3-D castles of the book there’s a life-like depiction of a White Walker as well.

This 3-D book is a collector’s item but I wouldn’t trade it for the thrilling action of the show on Netflix. For me it’s a 50-50 situation.” Hussam Haider, Dubai-based GoT fan

Does this mean GoT enthusiasts finally have a novel that does justice to the Emmy Award-winning series? Hussam Haider, a Dubaibased GoT fan, appreciates the interactive novel for its aesthetic appeal. “This 3-D book is a collector’s item but I wouldn’t trade it for the thrilling action of the show on Netflix. For me it’s a 50-50 situation,” says Hussam.

We know that a Lannister always pays his debts. However, the only drawback of this grandiose novel is its hefty amount. Priced at Dh2,000, only two copies of the book have sold so far. While it may be impossible for most young fans to own this book, they’re happy to add it to their reading wish list.

Other favourites in the 3-D titles section include ‘The Walking Dead’ by Becca Zerkin, David Hawcock, and S. D. Perry. The pop-up version of Harry

Potter by Lucy Kee has already sold out.
