dubai — Medeor 24x7 International Hospital, providing world class healthcare in Al Ain has officially launched the Ozone therapy treatment licensed by the Ministry of Health.

Prof Dr Massimo Piracci, PHD, MD, MBBS, MS (Ortho-Trauma), PhD (MIA, USA), GMC-UK, consultant and head of department of Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Medeor 24x7 International Hospital Al Ain is a staunch believer in the use of advanced technologies, minimal invasive surgery techniques and spoke about the advantages of ozone therapy and how it is used to treat a variety of conditions.

Ozone therapy is a form of alternative medicine treatment made up of a colourless gas of three atoms of oxygen (O3) that increase the amount of oxygen in the body and supports in the treatment of cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, dementia, lyme disease and more.

Prof Dr Massimo said: “Ozone therapy stimulates the RBCs and oxygen metabolism to activate the immune system. This technique is to support oxygen intake in a daily life and is invasive where it is injected into the muscle as an alternative or intravenously into veins, tendons and joints. Other routes via autohemotherapy, is blood drawn from the patient, exposed to ozone and re-injected into the patient.”

He believes that ozone aids in cure of bacterial, viral, fungal and yeast infections. It is also known to be pain relieving and helps with conditions such as herpes, acne, diabetes, dentistry and oncology.

“We are confident in this treatment as an alternative therapy from surgery. Every day, we see patients with sports related knee and shoulder injuries as well as patients with cervical and back pain. Our ultimate vision is to treat orthopedic diseases in a less invasive way, without surgery as much as possible. We usually exhaust all conservative options before we surgically intervene.”

“In order to have a strong immune system and a long lasting healthy bone life, it is important to have a balanced diet and daily exercise. Increase intake of magnesium, calcium and phosphorus for bone metabolism and sun exposure for Vitamin D production is vital.”
