dubai — To create a difference in the lives of refugee children, Sabari Indian School conducted a ‘Children for Children’ initiative under the patronage of the Consulate General of India, and in association with Red Crescent, Dubai.

The school began the week-long initiative on November 14, Indian Children’s Day, that culminated in a finale event on November 20, International Children’s Day. The initiative saw active participation from students from Grades four to six, from The Indian Academy Sharjah, The Indian Academy Dubai, Springdales School Dubai, JSS Private School Dubai, ASPAM Indian International School, India International School Sharjah, Delhi Private School Dubai, The Central School, The Kindergarten Starters, Robin Singh Sports Acad- emy, Gems Millennium School Sharjah, and The Emirates National School Sharjah.

Sabari Indian School urged students to sport the spirit of giving by contributing to underprivileged children of their age. The event saw the attendance of Vipul, ConsulGeneral of India in Dubai; Pankaj Bodkhe, Consul (Education), Robin Singh, former cricketer and coach, and representatives from other Indian schools in the UAE.

“We are doing a good job if we instil the consciousness in children to help underprivileged children of their age. As they grow into adulthood they will be more conscious about their responsibility towards other people, and develop a better, more cohesive, and harmonious world,” Vipul told Khaleej Times.

“India and the UAE have shared very good ties, and we would like to take it further and show solidarity with Year of Giving,” said Bodhke.
