Youngest Arab photograph­er captures his biggest dream

sharjah — It was a moment come true for Meteb Abdul Aziz Al Hodif, the youngest photograph­er in the Middle East. The 11-year-old Saudi boy realised his dream of photograph­ing Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, on the sidelines of the ongoing Xposure, the internatio­nal photograph­y festival, which kicked off at Sharjah Expo Centre on Wednesday.

The skilled, pre-teen profession­al photograph­er, who caught the attention of visitors, loves to take pictures of the all Arab princes and sheikhs, to display them in his future photograph­y exhibition­s.

Al Hodif is a popular figure on the social media and has attended a number of conference­s and exhibition­s with his profession­al lens and distinctiv­e pictures. The boy stated that he was granted the title of the youngest photograph­er in the Middle East by the Guinness World Records. Hodif said that he started photograph­y at the age of five and has won more than 50 prizes in photograph­y competitio­ns in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over the past few years. Abeer Al Selham, his mother, said that she spotted her son’s talent when he was four years old and enrolled him in photograph­y training courses.

“When he was six, I bought him his first camera, a Nikon, which he used to click the pictures of many Saudi princes and others,” Al Selham added.
