UAE a ‘gem’ in shaping future of world
dubai — The UAE Government Excellence Model (GEM) has been recognised as a global reference for supporting ambitious governments in improving their efficiency and shaping the future of their entities.
The GEM was recognised as an international standard at a ceremony held in Dubai and endorsed by representatives from nine organisations: European Organisation for Quality (EOQ); Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO); Australian Quality Organisation (AOQ); Juran world leaders in quality improvement; European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM); International Academy for Quality (IAQ); American Quality Association (ASQ); Asian Network for Quality (ANQ); and University of Miami.
The GEM embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve excellence.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, reaffirmed that the UAE Government “is continuously pushing forward with its efforts for development and implementing excellence”.
Al Gergawi added: “The UAE Government has thus become a point of reference for other governments looking to enhance their performance and achieve happiness and better quality of life for their communities. The GEM is a pioneering model for the formation of future-oriented, excellence- based governments that prioritise transformation through innovation and development in government work. Global accreditation comes with great responsibility, and with that in mind, we are continuously working to develop the GEM, enhancing its flexibility and adaptability

The recognition of the GEM opens the doors wide for establishing the UAE as a premier global destination for shaping the future of excellence.”
