KT, ICAI VAT Clinic to demystify taxation

- Staff Report

dubai — As a new law passed by the leadership, value added tax (VAT) will be implemented in the UAE with effect from January 1, 2018. With new reforms, arise more questions and queries.

Aligning itself with the vision of the leadership, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) UAE, Dubai Chapter, has partnered with Khaleej Times to host VAT Clinics to educate the masses on the implementation of VAT.

Scheduled to start on November 25, the Clinic will be held every week at the Khaleej Times office in Al Quoz. VAT Clinic is a unique platform where ICAI UAE Dubai Chapter members and invited guests can ask questions about VAT to domain experts. The attendees will give their questions well in advance by filling a Google form, which will help the domain experts to prepare well. The dissemination of right and correct information to members and guests is the objective of VAT Clinic.

Speaking about organising this initiative with ICAI, Khaleej Times editor Mr Vinay Kamat stated: “The proposed implementation of VAT in the UAE and GCC will present a number of challenges for businesses operating in the region as VAT will impact all parts of the business. VAT Clinic will help in providing right information to businesses.”
