Vote for your favourite government initiative
dubai — Residents are urged to vote for one of eight government initiatives shortlisted for the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government Flag.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has said that measuring a government’s development or success relies, first and foremost, on gauging customer satisfaction, in addition to a government’s commitment to futurereadiness and constant improvement to its services.
The voting which began on November 23 will run until December 7 on vote.dtmc.gov.ae.
He also lauded the government bodies that strive to work as one coherent team to establish Dubai as a competitive destination, calling on the community at large to participate and vote for the best government initiative.
“Customer satisfaction is key to achieving further developments in smart government, and a solid metric for measuring the compatibility of these services with the needs and aspiration of public,” Sheikh Hamdan said, stressing that cooperation among government entities to develop peoplefocused services and initiatives embodies the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The finalists were shortlisted from 31 government entities participating in the Annual Improvement Cycle following a thorough qualifications round. The judging panel consisted of 28 international experts from different specialisations and 12 countries. They will evaluate the impact of these services in the short and long terms, while also measuring them against performance indicators in accordance with the Dubai Model for Government Services.
Evaluation criteria included efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and commitment to smart government approaches, while the panel’s methods included, among other practices, personal interviews with representatives of government agencies.
Finalist initiatives will be presented at the Hamdan Hub in December. The initiative that receives the most public votes will win the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government Flag. The Hamdan Hub seeks to promote innovation in government departments by highlighting success stories. It sheds light on the transformation taking place towards a more efficient and smarter government.
