Military exhibition to show UAE armed Forces’ might
dubai — An exhibition at Dubai’s Etihad Museum will celebrate the UAE Armed Forces’ role in the nation’s past, present and future.
Etihad Museum is hosting its second exhibition — a military showcase — under the title ‘Protectors of the Nation: Sacrifice and Giving’. The exhibition will commence during the UAE National Day celebrations and will run for six months, until June 2018.
The announcement was made during a Press conference held at the Etihad Museum in Dubai on Monday, in the presence of Colonel Dr. Saeed Al Kalbani, director of the Etihad Museum and Military History Centre, among other dignitaries. “The UAE Armed Forces play an important role in the defence and security of the UAE, but their significance to the nation goes far beyond that. Their work brings to life our values of duty, service and sacrifice. Through this exhibition, we will show the various roles the armed forces play such as going on peace-making missions and being part of humanitarian efforts around the world,” said Saeed Mohammad Al Nabouda, acting director-general of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
Displaying the continuing might of the UAE Armed Forces and educating the public about its activities, the exhibition will also chart its formation and history, paralleling the evolution and unification of the country itself.
Nabouda said: “This will be a powerful exhibition to inspire people and give them more reasons to appreciate our soldiers at the borders. We want everyone to come and see how our forces work hard to protect us.”
