Emirati community in India marks Martyr’s Day
new delhi — The Emirati community in India marked the Commemoration Day at the UAE Embassy in New Delhi with a solemn ceremony and recalled the sacrifices and valour of the country’s martyrs.
Dr Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, unfurled the national flag and the national anthem was played as diplomats at the mission and other staff stood reverentially in memory of those who had heroically sacrificed their lives for the country.
In addition to embassy staff, the commemoration ceremony was attended by representatives of UAE institutions based in New Delhi.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, there was a discussion tracing the origin of Commemoration Day and of the events through history which have made this day a solemn occasion marked by heroism.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni embassy in Abu Dhabi organised an event on Thursday to mark Commemoration Day.
Fahad Saeed Al Manhaly, Yemeni Ambassador to the UAE, said that the Commemoration Day represents a source of pride due to the sacrifices of Emirati heroes in the civil and military fields.
Al Manhaly hailed the glorious sacrifices of Emirati martyrs, which will always live in the memory of the nation and the hearts of Yemeni people, who value their support in defence of the legitimacy in Yemen and their liberation of many Yemeni governorates from the domination and destruction of Houthi and Saleh militias.— Wam
