Police horses’ record bid on Sunday

dubai — Taking place at the Meydan Grandstand on Sunday, the Dubai Police and Meydan City Corporatio­n will attempt to enter the Guinness World Records for having the largest parade of horses with flags featuring more than 120 horses from the Dubai Police stables.

The event, which is also part of the UAE’s 46th National Day celebratio­ns, is open to all Dubai Police Force and Meydan City Corporatio­n staff and their families.

A host of activities will be on offer to appeal to people of all ages. The main stage area will be bustling with activities, while a traditiona­l souk and heritage zone is expected to be very popular as visitors mark the 46th year of the UAE’s formation.

The dedicated children’s area will include face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, balloon bending and magic, puppet and bubble shows.

In Apron Views of the Meydan Grandstand, a dog show by the Dubai Police Canine Division is expected to be a big draw, as well as a showcase of the latest Dubai Police supercars and motorcycle fleet, which are sure to entice petrolhead­s and car aficionado­s.

Stilt walkers, jugglers, UAE mascots, unicyclist­s and clowns dressed up in the national colours will give visitors great photo opportunit­ies to remember the day.
