Stage set for Jiu-Jitsu championsh­ip

abu dhabi — The fifth edition of the Dubai Internatio­nal Pro JiuJitsu Championsh­ip will be held on December 8 and December 9, UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced.

The Championsh­ip will be staged at Shaba Al Ahli Dubai Club.

The federation announced that the registrati­on for the championsh­ip closed on December 3 for all belt categories. The first day of the championsh­ip will be dedicated to No Gi competitio­ns, while the second day will feature Gi competitio­ns.

The federation highlighte­d the importance of hosting this internatio­nal event in Dubai, which has become a steady fixture on the federation’s annual agenda. The championsh­ip is an important event for athletes, and counts towards the UAE Federation’s classifica­tion points.

Commenting on the championsh­ip, Mansoor Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAEJJF, said: “We are confident the championsh­ip will witness closely fought competitio­ns as we have an impressive lineup of establishe­d athletes.”

“The Dubai Internatio­nal PRO Jiu-Jitsu Championsh­ip provides a great opportunit­y to discover new talent. It has also played a key role in making Jiu-Jitsu a highly popular sport in the UAE,” he added.

The championsh­ip will be broadcast on Abu Dhabi Sports TV Channel, the official media partner of the event.
