Stage set for Jiu-Jitsu championship
abu dhabi — The fifth edition of the Dubai International Pro JiuJitsu Championship will be held on December 8 and December 9, UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced.
The Championship will be staged at Shaba Al Ahli Dubai Club.
The federation announced that the registration for the championship closed on December 3 for all belt categories. The first day of the championship will be dedicated to No Gi competitions, while the second day will feature Gi competitions.
The federation highlighted the importance of hosting this international event in Dubai, which has become a steady fixture on the federation’s annual agenda. The championship is an important event for athletes, and counts towards the UAE Federation’s classification points.
Commenting on the championship, Mansoor Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAEJJF, said: “We are confident the championship will witness closely fought competitions as we have an impressive lineup of established athletes.”
“The Dubai International PRO Jiu-Jitsu Championship provides a great opportunity to discover new talent. It has also played a key role in making Jiu-Jitsu a highly popular sport in the UAE,” he added.
The championship will be broadcast on Abu Dhabi Sports TV Channel, the official media partner of the event.
