Development of jobs
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of Artificial Intelligence, dismissed the notion that artificial intelligence will cause job losses. Instead, he said, AI will develop jobs.
“Since 1930, John Keynes predicted a technological unemployment, but jobs have been on increase, as well as the human population. There will be jobs with every development, but we will have to adjust to them,” said Al Olama.
Large demand in specific has been towards AI engineers who earn up to $1 million a year. Al Olama noted that the future generation will have to be trained to develop such skills and encouraged to join advanced fields. “The Ministry of Education has to develop programmes to adjust to these changes,” he said.
