3 more UAE consular centres in India
dubai — The UAE is making it easier for Indian professionals and visitors to travel to the country by opening three new consular centres. The UAE Ambassador to India, Dr Ahmed Albanna, said Chennai, Chandigarh and Hyderabad would soon get consular and visa centres in addition to the consulates in Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram, and the embassy in New Delhi.
“If people from Chandigarh, Chennai and Hyderabad want a visa to the UAE, they have to travel to either Mumbai, Delhi or Kerala. To prevent hardship for the people, we are soon going to open our consular and visa centres in these cities,” Albanna said during a meeting with the media in Indian capital, New Delhi.
Infrastructure projects in India will get a boost with the first tranche of $1 billion being moved for projects two months ago by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). The UAE ambassador said the UAE would continue to invest in the country as systems and bylaws for investment are now in place.
Recently, the ADIA bought stakes in KKR India Financial Services, a non-banking financial company in India.
Albanna said: “We denounce extremism, terrorism, and work closely with other countries to counter-attack organisations and individuals that have been listed or proscribed.”
