Unwell Hull makes a late charge

- KT Report

dubai — She might have been a bit under the weather but that didn’t stop Charley Hull from making a charge up the leaderboard in the Omega Dubai Ladies Classic.

The Englishwoman, starting the day on tied 14th, struck a five-under to be tied fourth along with India’s Aditi Ashok on nineunder, at the Majlis Course of the Emirates Golf Club on Friday.

The 21-year-old from Kettering, withstood a cold to shoot an eagle, four birdies and a bogey in her round. Despite that, she said that her putting had let her down a bit. “I played really good today. I left so many shots out there, so I feel really, really annoyed with myself. But I just couldn’t get my putter going at all,” said Hull.

Hull began her round with an eagle on the par-4 second and followed it up with a birdie on the next. And although she bogeyed the fourth, she had successive birdies on five and six.

“I hit a really good drive on the second hole. Got on the green and holed a putt from the back edge of the green, so it was good,” Hull said about that eagle.

Hull said it was one of the days where her putting wasn’t as hot. “Yeah, it was one of those days. But I feel like I’m doing something slightly wrong with my stroke. I’m just pressing down and I’m pulling them a little bit left, so I need to work on that,” she said.
