dubai — Dwayne Bravo seems to have thrown in the towel as far as making a comeback to the West Indies cricket team is concerned. But, mind you, he is not hanging up his gloves just yet.

The star all-rounder from Trinidad will be seen donning the jersey for the Maratha Arabians in the T10 Cricket League that commences on Thursday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the team’s training session at The 7s Ground, Dubai, on Wednesday, Bravo said he was not banking on these tournaments (like T10) to make a comeback into international cricket.

“No, no, I ain’t looking at these tournaments to make an international comeback. I will be happy to just play cricket as long as I can.

any sense making a comeback,” said Bravo who played 40 Tests, 164 and 66 T20Is for his country.

A key member of the West Indies team that won the 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20 titles, Bravo found his way into the Maratha Arabians team through the back door, so to speak, as Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara pulled out due to personal reasons.

“First of all I was not in the draft for this T10 League because I was playing in the BPL which is a six week tournament. Right after that I had the Big Bash tournament coming up so I wanted a little bit of a break but then I got some very good news in the middle of the BPL that Sangakkara has pulled out and if I was interested in being a part of history. This is the first T10 tournament in a beautiful country so yeah I could not say no.”

Bravo said he was happy to be in a team that has the likes of Virender Sehwag and Wasim Akram. “It’s always good to be in a team with legends like Sehwag (captain) and Akram (coach).

A music lover, Bravo said he was looking forward to his new album. “There’s lot of music coming up. I’m going to release one of my new tracks at the next IPL. I just did one in Bangladesh called ‘Bhalobashi Bhalobashi’, so there’s a lot in store for my fans who always look out for new things.”
