Salesman in dock for threatening compatriot
dubai — A salesman, who allegedly threatened to kill his compatriot and send him dead back to his home country, has been charged in the Court of First Instance. The incident allegedly took place on October 1 when the 28-year-old Indian salesman made threats against the other man urging him to drop a court case he had filed against his wife. A complaint was lodged at Al Rafaa police station.
However, the salesman did not show up in court to enter a plea against the criminal threat charge. The businessman, who was allegedly threatened by the defendant, told the prosecutor he had just got out of the court room at the Dubai Courts when the accused approached him. “He said he would

kill me and that I would not go back to India alive. He wanted me to drop a case I had filed against his wife,” the 34-year-old complainant said. “He had threatened me before too.”
The 40-year-old Indian sales executive said during public prosecution investigation he was with the businessman when the defendant made the threats. “He just came to us and stood in our way. He looked serious in his threats because he just looked very angry.”
The suspect will be sentenced on January 30, 2018.
