- Staff Reporter

dubai — The UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia) has organised a voluntary youth campaign to implement sustainable development and operational projects in the governorates of Qena, Luxor, and Aswan in Upper Egypt. Over 100,000 people are expected to benefit from this campaign.

The campaign included 62 projects for the establishment of clean water distribution networks, installation of domestic water filters, and follow-up of Suqia’s water projects that were implemented earlier. The campaign also included laying the foundation for two water purification plants in Aswan and the distribution of 25 sustainable projects, including fishing boats and yarn for fishing, as well as sewing machines and blankets for villagers.

“We were keen to involve the youth in our international humanitarian campaigns, which we organised in partnership with the Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (Dewa) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment. This supports the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071 and the Year of Zayed 2018,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Suqia.

“We are proud of the youth’s contribution to the implementation
