8-year-old winner of Arabs Got Talent to perform in Dubai
Folk music, traditional Arab instruments, world tunes and a scintillating performance by 8-year-old Eman Basha, the winner of Arabs Got Talent Season 5, are major highlights of ‘Mood Music Concert’, the year’s first cultural event at the Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children (AJCCC).
The event will take place on Saturday, January 13.
Announcing the calendar of events for January and February 2018, Moza Al Raqbabi, AJCCC spokesperson, said the centre will run four cultural shows throughout January and February, including Mood Music Concert. “Around 140 people, including parents of students participating in the event, are expected to be part of the cultural shows,” said Moza.
Tala Tutunji, the centre’s music coordinator, said: “Eman Bisha has been training with us for some time now. A total of 10 students in the age group of 8-17 will perform eight tracks, ranging from Western Classical, traditional Emirati music, and world music including Turkish and Cuban songs.” Students at the concert are of Emirati, Arab, European, American, and Asian descent.
‘Bidayat’, a pottery exhibition, set to take place on Saturday, January 27, will showcase the artefacts made by the AJCCC students. The ACT Festival, from February 22 to 24, will present specialised technical theatrical workshops. All events are free entry to the public.
Parents can pre-register for the event http://www.ajccc.ae/ or call the centre on 04 3169999.
