Wombats win Rons Enviro Care tourney
dubai — Wombats defeated hosts Ocean Fair International by a 30-run margin to win the Rons Enviro Care Cricket Cup played at the Ocean Fair Sports Club, DIP ground.
Batting first, Wombats posted 135 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. All-rounder Touseef Qadri top scored with an unbeaten 75 while Roshan Khan (17) and Wombat skipper Nael Tanvir (17) added to the total.
Waheed Ahmed (2 for 18), Shafaqat Ali (2 for 21) and Raja Waqas (2 for 24) were the Ocean Fair bowlers to impress.
In reply, Ocean Fair were bundled out for 105 in 18.1 overs. Waqas top scored with 40 while Salman Randawa chipped in with 18runs. Wombat’s Touseef Ahmed claimed three wickets for 14 runs with Tashfen Yasin and Abid Nini claiming two
wickets each. Joseph Johan of Rons Enviro Care gave awat the prizes.
