Drivers told to be alert as fog returns

-

abu dhabi — The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has urged motorists to be cautious for the next few days as fog is expected in various parts of the UAE.

The centre on Monday said the weather will be humid overnight and early morning with fog formation across most of the country.

Skies will become partly cloudy and hazy during the daytime today. The wind will be light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly in general, becoming fresh northwesterly in the morning over the sea and extending inland during the afternoon with chance of rising dust.

Wind speeds may reach 2035kmph on land and 50kmph over the sea. The sea is expected to be rough to very rough at times over the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Gulf of Oman.

The NCM added that from Wednesday to Friday, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy in general, while continuing to be humid overnight and in the early morning.

The chances of fog and mist formation will decrease and may be restricted to only a few areas on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The wind on Wednesday will be northwesterly at first becoming light to moderate easterly to northeasterly by Wednesday afternoon, with speeds of 1025kmph and may reach 40kmph over the sea during the day, causing rough seas. It will drop from light to moderate by Wednesday night over the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate over the Gulf of Oman. — Wam
