Education fair begins tomorrow

dubai — High school graduates and school students keen on pursuing higher education in premier Indian institutes, can head to the fourth edition of The Hindu-India Education Fair.

The Indian newspaper is organising the two-day higher education and career expo on January 19 and 20, at Hotel Movenpick, Dubai. The fair will bring over 12 leading public and private Indian institutes from cities including Bangalore, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.

There will also be a special science quiz, National Eligibilit­y cum Entrance training sessions and counsellin­g from experts in the medical field.

The National Eligibilit­y cum Entrance Test, or NEET-UG, is an Indian entrance examinatio­n for students who want to study any graduate medical course in government or private medical colleges.

Participat­ing institutes include India’s top names like Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, SRM University, Saveetha University, PSG Group of Institutio­ns (Coimbatore), Rajalakshm­i Institutio­ns, Sona Group of Institutio­ns etc; in addition to the coaching centres like FIITJEE and Speed Medical Centre.

Dr K Vinayak Senthil, a cardiothor­acic surgeon, will speak to students wishing to pursue MBBS.

“Outside these training sessions, we’re also organising a science quiz competitio­ns on both days for Grade 10 and 12 students. Students need to form groups of two and winners will be given prizes worth Dhs 15,000,” said Narsimhan.

The education fair is open to the general public on both days, from 11.30am until 8.30pm.
