I am a junior associate on a company visa with a monthly salary of Dh4,000. I want to sponsor my father, who had worked in the UAE for 32 years and retired early last year. His visa was cancelled in November. Is there a way I can sponsor him? Pursuant to your queries, it may be noted that in the UAE, one may sponsor residence visas for parents if he/she is drawing a monthly salary of Dh20,000 or above, or is having a minimum salary of Dh19,000 and accommodation provided by the employer. Further, residence visas have to be sponsored for both the parents together, and necessary documents have to be provided if the parents are divorced or one of the parents is deceased. Additionally, a minimum insurance coverage of Dh600 must be obtained for each parent. Nevertheless, where a person is not able to meet the criteria for the minimum salary, he may approach the humanitarian section of the general directorate of residency and foreigners affairs in the UAE, who may allow the sponsorship on special consideration upon analysing all aspects of the application.

Single mums can sponsor unmarried daughters

I am an Australian single mother, who has never been married. My child’s father lives in a different country. I have been offered a job in Dubai. However, I need to know if I can sponsor my child’s visa or what the options are for me to bring my daughter here. Pursuant to your queries, it may be noted that in the UAE, single mothers can sponsor residence visas for their unmarried daughters. You should first obtain a valid employment visa for yourself and can sponsor the visa of your daughter if you meet the salary requirement to sponsor your dependants in the UAE. You should make an application as a special case to the general directorate of residency and foreigners affairs (GDRFA) in the UAE and attach the birth certificate of your daughter stating your name as the mother. This birth certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Australia, the UAE Embassy in Australia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE. For further information on the application process and the necessary fees, you may contact the GDRFA in UAE.

Valid visa must to enter UAE

I am an Indian national with a UAE visa valid until August 2018. I travelled to India one week ago and am planning to return to the UAE during the end of January 2018. My passport will expire on March 2, 2018. Will my passport still have the validity and can I get it renewed once I am back in the UAE? Will I face any issues coming back into the UAE? Pursuant to your questions it may be noted that, since your passport and the residence/employment visa is still within its validity period, you may enter the UAE by mid-January. Once you are back in the UAE, you may contact BLS International Visa and Passport Services for renewal of your passport.
