5 reasons to say hello to YT

- Disha Dadlani

Young Times, the platform for the young adults of the UAE, took its first steps earlier this month. If you’ve been a #UAEkid for long enough, the magazine probably was your entire childhood. As always, it is here to inform and entertain the youth. It’s also just a click away, www.youngtimes.com.

If you haven’t got your hands on the first issue yet, here’s a fun recap of the five things we spoke about in there.

Celebrate your teachers:

Take a look at fun and important topics of interest to teens and preteens. A celebration of the teacherstudent relationship. Did you know that you spend 2500 hours of your lives with the teacher?

Know shark products

Ever heard of ‘squalene’? It is a product derived from shark liver and is used in cosmetics, hair dyes, and in energy drinks. Our Nature section suggest that you read the label of products to save the sharks.

UAE: Home to entertainment:

The region has played host to some popular Hollywood and Bollywood films over the years. Enjoy a list of the films that have been shot in the UAE with our Entertainment section. Quiz yourself: How many of the places can you identify?

Experiment with braids:

For long, medium-length, and short hair; our Style Diary lists the best kind of braids, inspired by your favourite celebrities, and perfect for a party with the #squad.

Make money from YouTube:

A 16-year old Young Timer wears the entrepreneur’s hat and tells readers that the job of a YouTuber is a ‘real job’. His enjoyable read in the magazine’s Learn section will prompt you to unleash the vlogger within.

Always wanted to adopt a cat, but weren’t sure of how to take care of it? Keen on volunteering with an organisation to help further a cause? Unsure of your next vacation destination? Not sure what book to read next? Much more awaits in the pages.

Did you manage to get your hands on a copy or have you scrolled through the website? Got some feedback? Team Young Times is all ears at letters@youngtimes.com. The second issue of your dose of ‘info-tainment’ is out on 24th January. Excited?
