How do you look at challenges in the cyber world?

Parents often tend to believe that their offspring are brought up in a way that they would never fall into the clutches of bizarre trends such as the infamous ‘blue whale challenge’ or ‘the pass out challenge’. While coming across such hyped inclinations, the capacity of these young minds reduce and sensibility takes a backseat. I find this entire cycle of innocent manipulation ridiculous. There should be no room for such life-risking distractions.

Frankly, all these challenges that are trending are just fabricated to target vulnerable teens on social media. All these highly bizarre dares are a serious health hazard on so many levels. All it requires is prudence and basic level-headedness to know that these fads are just created with no moral intentions. Children of all ages are susceptible to falling into peer pressure and taking part in these precarious challenges and it our duty to stand up against such.

Popularity on social media has been a fashion statement in this hashtag generation and they have centred their whole life around it. This is exactly why they are up for these challenges, which promote self-harm without any real thought unaware of its future consequences. Students take them up for fame and to be “cool”. Its high time that proper awareness must be brought into the young minds and challenges like these be strictly punished and banned.

Students paying heed to such challenges and taking them up not seeing any other side effects of them shows how powerful impact social media has. These challenges are put up in such an attractive way that some students are lured towards taking them up. The people who must have thought of these bizarre challenges are also to be equally blamed. Students need to be aware of not to take up these challenges and also about some dos and don’ts on social media.
