Rehman’s five-wicket haul helps Pulse Secure beat Zurich by 9-wkts

dubai — A five-wicket haul by Rehman Tariq Butt inspired Pulse Secure to comfortabl­e nine-wicket victory over Zurich in the Al Taher Spices Cup T20 cricket tournament at the Ocean Fair Sports Club in DIP

Batting first, Zurich were bundled out for a paltry 55 in 15 overs. Abdul Rehman was the wrecker-inchief, picking up fvie wickets for only six runs. Fahad Butt took two wickets giving away only four runs.

In reply, Pulse Secure scored 55 runs in seven overs, with Zeeshan Akhtar ending on an unbeaten 35.

In another match, Ocean Fair beat Thrifty Rent-A-Car by five wickets.

Batting first, Thrifty Rent-A-Car scored 161 all out in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a composed 55 by Muhammad Khan, supported well by Kashif Ahmed’s 29. Ram Narayan was the pick of the bowlers with 4/16, with veteran Freddy Sidhwa picking up 2 for 36.

Chasing, OFI Sports made light work of the total, scoring 162 for the loss of wickets in only 16.3 overs, thanks to a 35 ball 99 by Richi Yaqoob.

Red Knights, meanwhile, beat Redwood by 56 runs.

Batting first, Red Knights scored 145 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Faheem Khukro and Bharat Mohen scored 30 apiece, with Santosh Rao and Ganesh Korkod picking up three wickets each.

Chasing, Redwood well way short of the target, scoring only 89 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. Shareeq Siddiqui and Darshan Guru were the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/14 and 3/24 respective­ly. Upender Singh was left unbeaten on 33 runs.
