Foundation to serve victims of violence

Dubai — Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), said that during the coming period, the foundation will expand their services to the victims of violence and human traffickin­g and add new languages to reach as many people as possible who need assistance.

This came during the first meeting of DFWAC’s Board of Directors chaired by Al Muhairi and Dr Mona Al Bahr, vice-president; Afra Al Basti, directorge­neral; and members Mohammad Ali Rustm and Dr Sultan Abdul Hamid Al Jamal.

Al Muhairi said that the board discussed a new strategic direction for the foundation, which aims at implementi­ng the tools of creativity and excellence in all sectors, and contributi­ng to enhancing the DFWAC’s role in Dubai as a capital of humanitari­an work.

Al Muhairi expressed his sincere thanks for the confidence of the leadership in appointing him and the members of the council. He emphasised everyone will spare no effort to be responsibl­e for serving the UAE.

The director-general said that the council considers that the issues of society and the strengthen­ing of its stability relations are among the most important issues that have the support and attention of the UAE leadership, where it occupies a special focus in the vision of the UAE 2021, adding that the foundation will contribute in all possible ways to achieve this vision. — Wam
