He denied the charges in the Court of First Instance. The complaint was registered on September 25, 2017, at Al Barsha police station.

A police sergeant said he was on patrol duty along with a corporal in Al Barsha when they were informed about an incident. “A Moroccan woman complained that her landlord had disconnected the power in several rooms in the villa where she lived. He “fiercely” resisted arrest and threatened the officers. He said he knew the police deputy chief and would complain against them.

He insulted the policemen, kicked and pushed them. He tried to pull the gun of one of them, slightly damaging the officer’s uniform in the process.

As he continued to push them, they all fell down. Police backup was called in to help bring the man under control. Both officers got bruises and other hand contusions because of the defendant’s assault.
